Designed by Studio.
Built by Tech.
Websites that look like your brand because they were made by the same people who designed it — and perform like production software because they were engineered by the same people who build it.
Built for: ProLeap · Agenhost · Vetyo · [PLACEHOLDER — approved client site names]
Most websites are built by one discipline or the other. Not both.
A design agency produces beautiful websites that are handed to a developer to implement. Something is always lost in translation — the font weights aren’t quite right, the hover states weren’t specified, the performance was never discussed in the brief.
A development agency produces functional websites that are handed back to a designer to “make it look better.” The structure was decided before the brand was considered. The visual layer is applied to an architecture it wasn’t designed for.
Kharaayo is not a design agency or a development agency. It is both — simultaneously, on the same project, with the same shared understanding of the brief.
When Studio designs a page, Tech is already considering how it loads, what it does at 3G, how the animations behave on a six-year-old Android phone. When Tech sets the technical architecture, Studio is already considering how the design system will be implemented at component level — not as a mockup, but as a live system.
The result is websites that hold up everywhere: in the browser, on mobile, under scrutiny from a performance audit, and in the first 50 milliseconds that determine whether a visitor trusts what they’re looking at.
What we build.
Marketing websites, launch pages, and brand-aligned digital presences — designed and developed to the same standard as the products they represent.
Company & Brand Websites
The primary web presence for a company — positioning, credibility, and conversion for every category of visitor: investors, clients, hires, partners. Multi-page, brand-aligned, performance-optimized.
Typically 5–15 pages: homepage, about, services/product, case studies, blog, contact.
Product Marketing Sites
The dedicated marketing layer for a product — separate from the product itself, designed to convert visitors into trial users, waitlist sign-ups, or qualified demo requests. Benefit-forward, conversion-optimized.
Typically 3–8 pages: hero landing, features, pricing, comparison, sign-up.
Launch & Campaign Landing Pages
High-conversion single pages for a specific moment — a product launch, a funding announcement, a campaign, a waitlist opening. Designed to drive one action, fast.
Typically 1–3 pages: single conversion goal, strong visual direction, mobile-first.
Venture & Startup Sites
Early-stage sites for ventures that need a credible web presence before the product is complete — investor-ready, clearly positioned, designed to attract the right attention rather than explain everything.
Typically 3–6 pages. Often built on Kharaayo’s own venture stack.
Site Redesigns
Taking an existing site and rebuilding it — architecturally, visually, or both. May follow a brand identity refresh or stand alone as a web-specific brief. Assessment of the existing site is part of scoping.
Scope varies. Starts with a site audit before any redesign work begins.
Product UI, SaaS dashboards, web apps with authentication and data management, and any experience where the primary purpose is application functionality rather than marketing communication — those are Kharaayo Tech engagements. If your brief is closer to a web app than a marketing site, start with AI-Native MVP or AI Integration.
What every site includes — without asking.
These are not optional add-ons. Every site Kharaayo builds meets this baseline before delivery.
Brand Coherence
Every element reflects the brand system — typography, color, imagery, voice, spacing. If we built the brand, this is automatic. If you bring one, we review the guidelines before we begin and design within them.
Performance by Default
Shipped at 90+ Lighthouse scores for Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO. Images as WebP/AVIF. Fonts loaded without layout shift. Core Web Vitals green at launch. Fast on slow connections, not just a developer’s laptop.
Mobile as Primary
Designed for mobile first, scaled up to desktop — not the other way around. With over half of global web traffic on mobile, a desktop-first site has a compromised mobile experience baked in.
Accessible by Design
WCAG AA compliance as a baseline: keyboard navigability, screen reader compatibility, sufficient color contrast, and focus states. Not an afterthought applied at audit. Built in from the component level.
CMS-Ready
Built with a CMS your team can use without developer involvement. Blog posts, case studies, team updates, and copy edits — all manageable by non-technical users. CMS choice agreed at scoping (typically Sanity or Contentful).
Source Ownership
Full repository access from day one. All code is yours. No proprietary lock-in. At handoff you receive repository access, deployment credentials, and documentation that lets your team — or any future developer — continue from where we left off.
A website project in five clear stages.
Brief & Discovery3–5 days
You submit a project brief. We review it, ask clarifying questions, and run a short discovery session: what the site is for, who it’s for, what success looks like, what the existing brand and technical context is. Output: a written project scope with timeline and fixed fee.
Information Architecture & Wireframes1–2 weeks
Before design begins, we map the site structure — pages, navigation, content hierarchy, user flows, and conversion paths. Then wireframes for each page: layout and content structure in low-fidelity, agreed before any visual design is applied.
Changes at wireframe stage are cheap. Changes after design is applied are not.
Visual Design2–4 weeks
Wireframes become full-fidelity page designs. Every page at every breakpoint. Interactive states, micro-interactions, and motion specified. Two rounds of structured visual feedback before development begins.
Development2–5 weeks
Design is built in code. Our Tech team implements with the same precision used for production software: component-based, performance-tested, mobile-verified, accessibility-checked. A staging environment for client review before any production deployment.
Launch & Handoff3–5 days
Production deployment. Performance audit. CMS onboarding — a short session with the people who will manage content. Repository and credential handoff. Documentation delivered.
Timelines from approved wireframes to launch. Discovery and wireframe phase adds 2–3 weeks before design begins.
This is right for you if:
Right fit
- You have a brand, or you’re building one, and need it on the web. A website without a brand is a template. A website built from a brand system is a presence. We build the latter — from a brand we designed or from guidelines you bring.
- You need design and development from one team. No handoffs between a design agency and a separate developer. One team, one brief, one point of accountability from wireframe to launch.
- You care about performance, not just appearance. Your site needs to load fast, score well, work on mobile, and hold up to a technical audit — not just look good in a Figma screenshot.
- You want to own and manage it after launch. You need a team who hands over the code, explains the CMS, and leaves you in control — not dependent on a retainer to update a photo.
Not the right fit
- You need a complex web application. Authentication, user data, SaaS dashboards, AI-powered interfaces — those are product engineering problems. Start with Kharaayo Tech: AI-Native MVP or AI Integration.
- You need a website in under two weeks. Proper web design takes time at the IA and wireframe stages. Rush timelines compromise the foundational decisions that determine how the site performs for the next three years. If you need something up immediately, we can discuss a phased approach.
- You haven’t decided what the site is for. A brief that starts with “we need a new website” and nothing else produces a website that looks good and converts nothing. We need to know what you’re trying to achieve before we can design it.
