We didn't move to where
the opportunity was.
We built it here.
Kharaayo Inc. is a venture studio out of Birtamode, Jhapa — a small town in eastern Nepal — building AI-native products for our own ventures and for the world's most ambitious teams.
A small town. A pattern that needed breaking.
Kharaayo began in Birtamode, Jhapa — a town in eastern Nepal known more for what it has lost than what it has built. Generations of capable young people have left the country in search of opportunity. Not because they lacked ambition, but because the system around them never equipped them to compete on a global stage.
What they found abroad was often worse: talent forced into low-dignity labor, far from the work they were actually capable of.
The pattern was visible. The cost was personal. And the conviction it produced was simple:
If our people must leave, they should leave with skills they are proud of. And if they can stay, they should be able to build something the world recognizes.
Kharaayo was founded to make that second option real.
We don't believe leaving the country is wrong. We believe it shouldn't be the only path. So we set out to build the infrastructure — the studios, the ventures, the training ground — that would let global-grade creative and technical work originate from home.
Year 1 was about survival and proof. Year 2 is about momentum. Every year forward is about building the kind of place that doesn't have to apologize for where it's from.
Kharaayo means rabbit.
खरायो
In Nepali, kharaayo (खरायो) means rabbit. The animal we named ourselves after isn't the slow tortoise that wins one race. It's the animal that runs forever.
The old story of the hare and the tortoise no longer applies to how the world actually works. In an infinite race, stagnation is more dangerous than rest. Slow adaptation guarantees irrelevance.
To win in a long game, you have to be:
Fast
moving with intent, not reaction
Adaptive
willing to change course when the ground shifts
Resilient
leaping again, after every fall
Multiplying
rabbits don't thrive alone; they compound through community
That is the operating philosophy of Kharaayo. It's how we build. It's how we hire. It's how we think about the people, ventures, and partners we choose to work with.
We don't run a single race. We keep leaping.
What we believe.
Vision
To build a globally respected ecosystem where creativity and technology converge to produce world-class professionals, startup leaders, and venture-scale companies — proving that global impact can originate from anywhere.
Mission
Kharaayo Inc. exists to empower individuals to discover their interests, apply their skills to real-world problems, and grow through collaboration — by uniting creativity and technology to build meaningful products, services, and leaders who uplift the next generation.
In simpler terms: build real things, with real people, in real partnership with the world.
One studio. Three engines.
Kharaayo Inc. is a holding company. Underneath it sit three engines, each operating as its own discipline with its own team, P&L, and standards. They share a brand and a mission — but each is built to be excellent on its own terms.
Kharaayo Tech
The product and engineering engine. We build AI-native products: MVPs, agentic systems, AI integrations, and fractional teams. Tech ships for our own ventures and for clients in equal measure. The same architecture, the same standards, the same engineers.
Kharaayo Studio
The creative and brand engine. Identity systems, product design, motion, web, and the marketing engines that take great products to market. Studio works for our own ventures and for clients who want creative work that holds up internationally.
Kharaayo Ventures
The company-building engine. Incubator programs for solo founders, co-creation for enterprises, and the studios behind Kharaayo's own product ventures. Ventures is where Tech and Studio combine to build companies, not just services.
The architecture is deliberate. Each engine is sovereign — no internal subsidies, no soft accounting. When they collaborate, they do so as real partners with real contracts. That's what keeps the work honest, and it's why the work travels.
The principles we don't negotiate.
Every studio claims values. Most don't survive the first hard quarter. These four have. They guide how we hire, how we scope, how we ship, and how we say no.
Integrity Before Advantage
We choose what's right over what's easy or immediately profitable. We don't compromise ethics, quality, or long-term trust for short-term gains — even when no one is watching.
Real Impact Over Empty Credentials
We measure success by what's built, solved, and delivered — not by certificates, titles, or claims we can't defend. The work is the proof.
Calculated Risk, Continuous Experimentation
Progress demands courage and curiosity. We take thoughtful risks, learn fast, and iterate — without reckless decision-making.
Radical Honesty With Respect
Growth requires truth, even when it's uncomfortable. We give direct feedback, challenge ideas openly, and address problems head-on — while respecting people, not egos.
The people behind the work.
Kharaayo is small by design. Every engagement gets senior attention, founder-level accountability, and the same team start-to-finish. That changes as we grow — but it's the standard we hold ourselves to today.
Daniel Thapa
Founder & CEO
Daniel founded Kharaayo to prove that world-class creative and technical work can originate from Nepal. He leads the company's overall direction, oversees the Tech engine, and remains directly involved in every major engagement.

The Wider Team
Beyond leadership, Kharaayo is built by a growing team of designers, engineers, and creative professionals working across our Studio, Tech, and Ventures engines. The team is small enough to move fast and senior enough to ship work that holds up internationally.
Many of our team members are graduates and apprentices from ProLeap — the talent platform we built inside Kharaayo to develop the next generation of Nepali professionals. The same people who learn with us often build with us.
Built in Birtamode. Built for the world.
Birtamode, in Nepal's eastern Jhapa district, is not a place most international clients have heard of. That's fine. It's where we are, and we'd rather build something the world notices than move to a city that's already crowded with studios doing the same thing.
Building from Nepal gives us three real advantages — not the kind that fit on a pitch deck, but the kind that show up in the work:
Time-zone reach. Our working hours overlap meaningfully with European mornings, Australian afternoons, Japanese workdays, and US East Coast evenings. We're built for asynchronous collaboration, and we adjust to your hours when it matters.
Senior attention at fair pricing. World-class engineering and design without the markup of a US or Western European studio. The cost advantage is real — but it never comes at the cost of seniority, ownership, or quality.
A long view. We're not building Kharaayo for a quick exit. We're building it to be the kind of place that's still around in twenty years, having shipped real ventures. That patience changes how we treat every relationship — including yours.
We work with clients in the US, EU, Japan, Australia, and beyond. Distance is a logistics problem. The work travels.
Bigger than us.
A studio that only serves itself eventually starves. So beyond Tech, Studio, and Ventures, Kharaayo invests in three things that compound over time:
Talent Mastery
We identify, train, and grow high-potential professionals — many through our own ProLeap program — and put them on real work, with real responsibility, from the start. The best of them stay and build with us. The rest go out into the world with skills they're proud of.
Ecosystem Amplification
We run community programs, university partnerships, mentorship networks, and public events that strengthen the wider creative-tech scene in Nepal. The stronger the ecosystem around us, the stronger we become.
Venture Incubation
We evaluate ideas, allocate capital and team time, and graduate the strongest experiments into standalone companies. ProLeap, Agenhost, and Vetyo are the current ventures we've built. More are in the pipeline.
The pattern is intentional. Every client engagement strengthens our talent. Every venture sharpens our team. Every community event brings new builders into the orbit. Three engines, one compounding loop — and an ecosystem that gets stronger every year.
