The Opportunity

A talent gap, and a thesis to close it.

Nepal produces capable young people. It does not produce enough environments for them to become capable professionals.

The pattern was visible in eastern Nepal — in Birtamode and Jhapa, where Kharaayo was founded. Young people with interest and intelligence but no structured path to real-world professional skill. Not for lack of institutions, but for lack of the applied learning environment where skills are built through doing, not through instruction alone. The gap between completing a degree and being meaningfully employable was wide and poorly mapped.

ProLeap was the thesis that this gap could be closed — and that closing it could produce a compounding talent pipeline that fed not just Kharaayo’s own ventures, but the broader creative-tech ecosystem.

The model: cohort-based, applied learning across Technology, Design, Marketing, and Product — led by active professionals, not theorists. Learners progress through a defined arc from explorer to intern to trainee to professional. ProLeap was incubated inside Kharaayo Inc. from idea to operating company, and is now preparing to graduate as its own independent entity — with Kharaayo Inc. as majority shareholder and strategic parent.

The Approach

Thesis first, brand second, product third.

ProLeap was built in the same sequence Kharaayo applies to every venture: thesis first, brand second, product third.

The thesis was defined before any brand work began — who ProLeap is for, what it believes, what makes the model different, and what the 5-year outcome looks like. Brand without thesis is decoration. Kharaayo Studio built the ProLeap brand on a foundation of strategic clarity, not aesthetic preference.

The brand system was designed to work across two audiences simultaneously — learners and institutional partners — with a visual language that signals applied seriousness rather than academic formality. Warm enough for an 18-year-old from a rural background to find it approachable. Credible enough for a school principal or corporate HR lead to take it seriously.

The platform build followed the brand, on a Next.js 15 and FastAPI stack — the same production-ready architecture used across all Tech client engagements. The operational infrastructure ran in parallel, so by the time the product is live, the company is ready to graduate.

ProLeap sits at the intersection of aspiration and belonging. Not a training institution — a talent ecosystem. The brand idea: “The first step in a longer journey.”

Visual Identity System

Logo system, colour palette, typography, imagery direction, and iconography — designed to work across physical learning environments, digital platforms, and marketing. Distinct from generic EdTech blue gradients and stock photos.

Brand Guidelines

Complete guidelines enabling ProLeap’s team and external partners to produce on-brand materials without a designer in the room.

Platform & Tech

Kharaayo Tech built the ProLeap digital platform — taking the cohort-based learning model from an offline operation into a production-ready, scalable digital environment.

Cohort Enrollment & Management

Learners apply, are selected, and onboarded through a structured digital flow. Cohort management gives instructors and program leads visibility into learner status across all active cohorts.

Learner Progression Tracking

Each learner moves through a defined arc (Explorer → Intern → Trainee → Professional) with milestone tracking and feedback loops. Progress is tied to demonstrated competency, not time-in-seat.

Instructor Workflow

Instructors — active professionals from the Kharaayo ecosystem — have a dedicated interface for managing sessions, tracking their cohort, and coordinating with the program team.

Ecosystem Integration

The platform surfaces internship and traineeship opportunities within Kharaayo and partner companies for learners who reach the relevant progression milestones.

AI Initiative

Two AI agents in technical scoping: an AI Career Consultant for personalised guidance, and an AI Placement Manager that automates job-matching and outreach for placement-ready graduates.· In scoping · Q3 2026
